Tumbler and drinkware photos: lids, colours and the in-hand shot

Drinkware buyers choose on capacity, lid, colour and whether it fits the cup holder, so the gallery has to show all four. Colour is the trickiest part, because one shoot usually has to cover a dozen finishes.

The gallery this category needs

In upload order. Slot one is always your own photo.
  1. 1

Your own photo of the tumbler on pure white with its lid and straw as shipped

Shows the exact product and accessories that arrive, which is what marketplaces check first.

  2. 2

Lid and straw close-up, open and closed

Lid design decides leak resistance and how buyers drink from it, and it is the most asked-about part.

  3. 3

In-hand or in-car shot for scale

Capacities in ounces or millilitres are hard to picture, and a hand or cup holder makes the size obvious.

  4. 4

Feature infographic with three callouts in real text

Insulation, lid and fit are the comparison points, and callouts let buyers scan them in seconds.

  5. 5

Lifestyle scene: picnic, desk or gym bag

Places the tumbler in the buyer's day and helps them picture which one they will carry.

  6. 6

Colourway lineup, each finish photographed or accurately recoloured

Colour is the final choice, and a lineup shows the range without making the buyer click through variants.

Platform rules that bite here

  • TikTok Shop

Listing quality guidance says to avoid using one base photo with colour swaps via editing software; give each colourway its own real photo or check every recolour against the physical sample.

  • Amazon

No image may carry reviews, star ratings or claims like "free shipping", or badges such as "Best Seller". Keep insulation and leak-proof callouts to an infographic gallery image and leave the main image as the tumbler on pure white.

  • Shopify

Keep one aspect ratio across a collection, and 2048 x 2048 px usually displays best for square images, so every colourway tile lines up on the collection grid.

  • Amazon A+

A+ bans "eco-friendly" and similar claims, and "recyclable" needs a supporting note, which applies to stainless and reusable-bottle messaging.

What gets this category rejected or ignored

  • Recolouring one photo into every colourway without checking it against the real finish, so the sage arrives grey.
  • Ice, condensation or fruit added with AI that suggests a feature the tumbler does not have.
  • Straws, extra lids or sleeves in the main image that are sold separately.
  • Infographic callouts with claims you have not tested, such as insulation hours.
  • Reflective steel picking up the photographer, the room or a coloured wall.

Questions

Can I recolour one photo for every colourway?

For Shopify and Amazon gallery images it works if each recolour matches the real finish. TikTok Shop's quality guidance specifically warns against one base photo with colour swaps, so photograph each colourway there when you can.

What scale shot works best?

A hand holding the tumbler, or the tumbler in a car cup holder, because both are objects every buyer knows the size of.

Should the main image show the straw?

Yes if the straw ships with it, attached as the buyer would use it. Leave it out if it is sold separately.

Where do I put insulation claims?

In a gallery infographic or A+ module, not the main image, and only with figures you have tested.
