A+ Content

A+ Content is Amazon's feature that lets brand owners add image-and-text modules to the product description area of a detail page, with its own image sizes, file rules and an approval step.

A+ Content appears further down the detail page than the gallery, in the product description area, and is built from modules in A+ Content Manager. Kindle Direct Publishing offers the same feature to authors under the same policy text.

The file rules are specific. Amazon's A+ Content guidelines accept jpg, bmp and png in RGB only, under 2 MB each and at least 72 dpi. Basic A+ images are 970 x 300 px, and a page can hold up to 5 modules (7 in Premium A+). GIF, HTML, CMYK, watermarks, QR codes and hyperlinks are not allowed. Approval can take up to 7 business days.

The content rules catch more sellers than the file rules. The guidelines list as don'ts: time-sensitive or promotional language and prices, comparisons with competitors, external links or contact details, warranty or guarantee claims, shipping details, blurry images, small unreadable text and images duplicated from the gallery. The KDP version adds that awards need a date and the awarding organisation and must be no older than 2 years, that "eco-friendly", "biodegradable" and "compostable" are banned, symbols included, and that "recyclable" needs a supporting note.

Common mistakes are reusing gallery photos, setting text too small to read on a phone, and exporting artwork from print software in CMYK. The asset upload also has an "AI-generated people" checkbox for images that show generated models.

If you build A+ images from PicBarn's lifestyle or infographic outputs, make them distinct from your gallery set, because duplicates are on Amazon's list of don'ts.
